CTO Jason Macy to Discuss the Need for and Value of Strategic API Security-Driven Hybrid Cloud Architectures at PAPIs ‘16
BOSTON, October 6, 2016 – Forum Systems Inc. today announced that CTO Jason Macy will explore enterprise security best practices for predictive APIs at PAPIs ‘16. Taking place October 11-12 at the Microsoft New England Research and Development Center (N.E.R.D.), the annual event is the premier forum for new machine learning APIs, techniques, architectures, and tools.
The International Conference on Predictive Applications and APIs (PAPIs) brings together practitioners from industry, government, and academia to review new developments, identify changing needs and trends, and discuss the challenges of building real-world predictive applications. Attendees will learn what predictive technology can do, how to use modern tools and APIs to solve real-world problems, and how to create tomorrow’s intelligent applications.
On Tuesday, October 11 at 1:30 p.m. EDT, Macy will lead the talk titled, “Enterprise API Security Requirements for using Predictive APIs.” During the session, Macy will discuss the value of public cloud-based machine learning solutions. The cost, quality, ease-of-use and rapid development in predictive APIs enables corporations to use these public cloud services to effectively model their private data. Macy will counsel, however, that a long-term API strategy is essential to achieving business success and ensuring enterprise security.
“There are myriad SaaS applications currently in use by enterprises worldwide – and more being launched and implemented daily. Although the business benefits of leveraging hybrid-cloud environments are unquestioned, these modern computing architectures expose APIs beyond corporate boundaries, leaving IT organizations vulnerable to new and ever-more sophisticated security threats,” said Macy. “The need for and value of API security-driven cloud architectures – especially for predictive APIs – has never been greater, and will enable enterprises to achieve their business objectives while ensuring seamless integration, secure identity federation, and data privacy and integrity.”
Key topics to be covered during Macy’s session will include:
- Modern design and principles of API-based architectures
- The importance of using both identity and data together to secure applications and services
- How API security technology protects corporate data exchange with SaaS providers
- Why building API security management architecture provides cost savings, code reduction, and enhanced agility
